Nathan Bashaw is entering his sixth year on the athletics staff at Gettysburg College in 2010-11. Bashaw serves as the Director of Campus Recreation and an assistant coach with the Bullets baseball team.
Bashaw is a 2003 graduate of Gettysburg and returned to his alma mater after spending two years as a member of the baseball staff at Dickinson College. In his return, he helped the 2007 squad post the second-most victories in a season with 26 and has guided the team to the Centennial Conference playoffs twice. As the Director of Campus Recreation, Bashaw oversees the day-to-day operations of the College’s intramural and club sports programs, including scheduling events and supervising an intern and a staff of student workers.
Bashaw was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter in the middle infield on Gettysburg’s baseball team from 2000 to 2003. Serving as a team captain as a senior, he earned All-Centennial Conference accolades at shortstop after hitting .341 and finishing in the top 10 in the conference in hits and runs scored. Bashaw set a school record with 101 assists as a junior and finished his career with a .310 batting average, 81 runs scored, 126 hits, and 62 RBI.
