Brett Foelber

Brett Foelber is entering his first season as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Gettysburg College in 2016-17.

Foelber brings collegiate coaching experience to the Bullets bench, having spent the 2010-11 campaign as an assistant at Stevenson University. In addition, he served as an assistant at Century High School in hometown of Sykesville, Md. in 2009-10 and helped the Knights tie for second in Carroll County with a 15-10 record. He also coached various AAU teams in the Baltimore area from 2008-12 and was selected to coach in the Baltimore Metro Area versus Monacracy Valley Athletic League All-Star Game.

Foelber is no stranger to the Centennial Conference, having played basketball for two years at McDaniel College from 2006-08, when he was a two-time All-Centennial Conference Honorable Mention selection. As a senior, he led McDaniel in scoring with 12.9 points per game while guiding the Green Terror to its best record (15-11) in more than two decades. He was also the Provident Pride of Maryland Tournament MVP for his performance in a triple-overtime win over Hood College. In addition, Foelber was McDaniel’s second-leading scorer (11.3 ppg) and rebounder (6.9 rpg) during his junior season while helping the Terror to its highest win total (11) in nine years. He graduated in 2008 with a degree in Communication.

Prior to McDaniel, Foelber spent two years at Randolph-Macon College, which was ranked as high as No. 11 in Division III in 2005-06. He played for a Yellow Jacket squad that made back-to-back appearances in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship game, where in 2006 it lost in overtime to eventual national champion Virginia Wesleyan University.

Foelber graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Baltimore and captained the Crusaders to a 27-7 record and a No. 1 ranking in the Baltimore Metro Area as a senior. He was named as an All-Baltimore Catholic League and an All-MIAA “A Conference” selection, as well as an All-Baltimore City performer by the Baltimore Sun.

Foelber is married to the former Katie Whaley, an assistant athletic trainer at Gettysburg College.
