Capkin Named to D3hoops.com Team of the Week
Dan Capkin posted 40 points in the Days Inn Tournament
GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Senior guard
Dan Capkin (Wynnewood, Pa./Lower Merion) of the 11th-ranked Gettysburg College men’s basketball team has been named to the
D3hoops.com Team of the Week after leading his team to the Gettysburg Days Inn Tip-Off Tournament title.
Capkin averaged 20.0 points per game and shot 50.0 percent (14-for-28) from the field in a 2-0 week for the Bullets. He scored 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting (4-of-9 from beyond the arc) in a 71-56 Days Inn Tournament first-round win over Elizabethtown before dropping in 12 points in a 58-56 victory over SUNY Geneseo in the championship game.
Through the team’s first three games, Capkin has averaged a team-leading 18.7 points per game. He also leads the Bullets in three-pointers (nine) and is second in assists (eight).
Gettysburg (3-0) plays its Centennial Conference opener on Wednesday, when it hosts Dickinson College at 8 p.m.
