Final Results
ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. – Gettysburg shot its best round of the Centennial Conference Championship on the final day of the tournament, but the Bullets were unable to make up any ground and finished in sixth place among six teams on Sunday at the Bridges Golf Club.
Gettysburg, the tournament host, fired a 324 for the third round and wound up with a team score of 1,005 (333-348-324).
Franklin & Marshall College won the team title by 12 strokes, shooting a 939 (316-308-315). Placing second was McDaniel College with a 951 (319-318-314), followed by Muhlenberg with a 953 (322-323-308), Dickinson with a 962 (316-320-326), and Swarthmore with a 966 (331-313-322).
Dickinson freshman Tucker Joyce won the individual title to earn Centennial Conference Player of the Year honors. He carded a 227 (77-71-79) to top F&M’s Andrew Woods (76-74-80) by three strokes.
F&M’s team title was its second in the last three years and its third overall. Joyce became Dickinson’s first-ever CC medalist.
Gettysburg’s top finisher was sophomore
Peter Ruymann (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury Regional), who shot a season-best 76 on the final day for a total of 244 (78-90-76), good for a 20th place showing among 35 golfers. Junior
Reid Sessa (Garden City, N.Y./Xavier) also carded his best round of the tournament on Sunday, firing an 81 while tying for 23rd with a 253 (89-83-81).
Also competing were sophomores
Peter Kratsios (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset), who tied for 25th with a 255 (82-87-86), and
Connor Delaney (Menands, N.Y./Shaker), who tied for 29th with a 260 (84-91-85). Freshman
Jim Fellows (Bow, N.H./Bow) recorded his best round of the championship on Sunday with an 82 and placed 32nd with a 264 (94-88-82).
The meet was Gettysburg’s final competition of the season.
