LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior Beth McCullough (Ft. Wayne, Ind./Homestead) closed an outstanding spring on the mound for the Gettysburg College softball team by being named the Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week according to an announcement by the conference office on Monday, May 4. It was the second weekly accolade for McCullough, who was tabbed CC Co-Pitcher of the Week in the first conference release on March 16.

With Gettysburg facing elimination and the top seed on the opening day of the CC Softball Tournament on May 2, McCullough tossed a gem to keep her team alive in the postseason. She held defending champion Ursinus College to just five hits and four walks, while striking out three in a 1-0 complete game shutout.

McCullough capped an impressive spring on the mound by leading Gettysburg in ERA (1.77), wins (14), strikeouts (124), and opponent batting average (.191) and finishing second in the Centennial in those final three categories. She was named All-CC Second Team and helped Gettysburg post the second-most wins in a single season in school history with a 27-10-1 record.
