GRAND LAKE, Colo. –The Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team turned in a successful campaign on the field and in the classroom in 2009 as the Bullets, coming off an appearance in the NCAA Division III semifinals, were named an Academic Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA).

Gettysburg was one of 62 institutions across NCAA Division III to earn Academic Squad honors, doing so for the second consecutive year. To be selected, a team must have a collective GPA of 3.0 or greater.

The Bullets made their eighth-straight appearance in the national playoffs last spring, ending with their third trip in four years to the semifinals. Gettysburg, which finished 16-4 overall a year ago, lost only one starter to graduation last season.
