NFCA girls got game All-Academic Teams

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently named its girls got game Team Academic Awards and for the second consecutive season, Gettysburg College was among nation's best scholastic teams, ranking ninth overall in NCAA Division III with a cumulative grade point average of 3.395 during the 2008-2009 academic year.

Gettysburg, which was seventh among the NFCA's All-Academic Teams last season, led all institutions from the Centennial Conference, beating out Swarthmore College (23rd, 3.320) and Franklin & Marshall College (36th, 3.270). Emerson College held the top GPA among Division III teams at 3.531.

The Bullets softball team was one of the top academic teams on campus last season and had seven student-athletes, nearly half of its roster, named to the Centennial Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll for having a cumulative GPA of at least 3.40.
