GRAND LAKE, Colo. – Gettysburg College women's lacrosse seniors
Nicole Ditillo (Baldwin, Md./Fallston) and
Emily Gaffney (Skaneateles, N.Y. / Skaneateles) were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Squad according to a recent announcement by the organization.
Both student-athletes are double-majors at Gettysburg, Ditillo in English and psychology and Gaffney in psychology and health sciences. Both are also key members of the Bullets' nationally-ranked defensive unit and both were named to the Centennial Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. Additionally, Ditillo was tabbed Academic All-America Second Team, Academic All-District First Team, and All-Centennial Conference First Team last spring.
The IWLCA recognized 407 student-athletes at 152 institutions for their excellence in the classroom during the 2008-09 academic year. All student-athletes were nominated by their institutions and have attained at least junior standing academically. Nominees considered had a GPA of at least 3.5 or were in the top 10 percent of their squad.
