STERLING, Va. – The Gettysburg College women’s basketball team received its first national ranking in over a decade as the Bullets were selected No. 21 in the NCAA Division III poll conducted by D3hoops.com and released on Tuesday, Jan. 12.

Gettysburg (12-0, 7-0 CC) received 120 votes from the D3hoops panel, which includes coaches, sports information directors, and media members from around the nation. It is the Bullets’ first ever national poll selection from the organization and its first national ranking since 1994-95. That team finished the year 20-5 overall and defeated the University of Scranton in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, the Bullets last appearance on the big stage.

Noteworthy, Gettysburg was just shy of cracking the USA Today ESPN Division III Top 25 Coaches' Poll, claiming 10 points overall and finishing five short of No. 25.

Gettysburg is off to a program-best start to the season and has won 13-straight dating back to last season’s regular-season finale. The squad is one of just six unbeaten women’s teams remaining in Division III, joining No. 1 Illinois Wesleyan University (13-0), No. 2 Amherst College (13-0), No. 5 Marymount University (14-0), No. 20 Christopher Newport University (12-0), and Farmingdale State College (10-0).

The Bullets’ first national ranking in 15 years will be tested early as the team hosts ninth-ranked Muhlenberg College (8-1, 6-0 CC) on Thursday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m. inside Bream Gym. First, however, Gettysburg needs to get by Bryn Mawr College (1-10, 0-8 CC) Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
