FAIRFAX, Va. – Junior Clay Reynolds (Medway, Mass./Worcester Academy) and senior Jeff Butterworth (Glen Mills, Pa./West Chester East) each set a school record, leading the Gettysburg College track & field teams at the George Mason University Patriot Games on Saturday.

The non-scoring meet was made up primarily of Division I competition.

Reynolds clocked a winning time of 1:55.85 in the 800-meter run, besting the previous Gettysburg mark of 1:56.24 set by Mike Kress '02 in 2002, beating out 17 other runners, and qualifying for ECACs. Butterworth was timed at 8:51.47 in the 3,000-meter run, edging the former record of 8:52.21 set by Greg Cumming '09 in 2009. He won his heat and took seventh out of 25 harriers.

Also turning in an outstanding performance for the men's team was senior Adrian Macdonald (Westwood, Mass./Westwood), who placed fourth among 25 competitors in the mile and won his heat in an ECAC-qualifying 4:21.11. He is believed to be the second-fastest indoor miler in school history behind only Bill Geating '79, who ran 4:16 in 1977.

Sophomore Greg Minnick (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) also finished fourth for the men's team, clearing 6- 3/4 in the high jump. Also breaking the top-10 was junior Nick Rosenberger (North Wales, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep School), who took eighth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.35, and senior Greg Baron (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge), who was 10th in the shot put (40-9 3/4)

The women's team was led by senior Kerrin Epstein (Moravia, N.Y./Moravia), who finished sixth in the 3,000-meter run. She chopped 18 seconds off her PR in the event, posting an ECAC-qualifying 10:38.58.
Also finishing among the top-10 for the women were freshmen Amanda Koslo (Darien, Conn./Darien), who placed eighth in the 400-meter dash (1:02.16), and Joy Fry (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore), who tied for ninth in the high jump (4-11).

Gettysburg continues its season next Saturday, when it competes at the Ursinus College Invitational.
