ECAC Bestows Laurels on Moser

Gettysburg junior earns first ECAC All-Star selection

Caitlin Moser was named an ECAC All-Star on Wednesday.

2009-10 ECAC Division III South All-Stars

CAPE COD, Mass. – Junior Caitlin Moser (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) picked up her second honor in as many days, this time landing her first selection as an Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South All-Star. Moser, who was named D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team on Tuesday, was a third-team honoree by the ECAC.

Moser was one of 15 players to land on one of the ECAC South All-Star Teams and it was her first selection to any team, though she was the 2008 ECAC South Co-Rookie of the Year. Her resume this winter includes a bevy of accomplishments, including leading Gettysburg to the NCAA Division III Tournament “Sweet 16” and a program-record 24 victories. She led the team in scoring (15.1 ppg) and rebounding (7.7 rpg) for the third consecutive year, becoming just the second player in school history to accomplish the feat.

Moser is the first Bullet to cop ECAC accolades since Jennifer Bengel '06 in 2006. In addition to regional accolades from D3hoops, she has been named All-Centennial Conference First Team and she is in the running for All-America recognition from both the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and D3hoops. Those teams will be announced later this week.

In just three seasons on the hardwood, the Bullet junior has already etched her name among Gettysburg's all-time greats. She ranks fifth in school history in both scoring (1,258 points) and field goals made (511), sixth in free throws made (233), 11th in steals (147), and 13th in rebounds (614).
