SAN ANTONIO – Playing two games in the same day had little effect on third-ranked Gettysburg College's scoring ability on Tuesday as the Bullets put in a pair of dominating performances. Senior Nina Emala (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr School) put up seven points in a 16-2 win over Wittenberg University and freshman Lindsay Menton (Ellicott City, Md./Glenelg Country Day School) turned out eight points in a 21-5 victory over Colby-Sawyer College.

Gettysburg (4-0) hammered previously unbeaten Wittenberg (3-1) by scoring each of the first 13 goals of the contest. Emala continued her torrid start to the year with her second consecutive seven-point outing, tossing in five goals in the opening half alone. Sophomore Hannah Church (Ellicott City, Md./Mount de Sales) added three goals and two assists, while senior Lauren Woodman (Denver, Colo./Kent Denver) and freshman Haley Stauch (Trappe, Md./Saints Peter & Paul) each tallied a pair of scores.

Junior Becky Lutz (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) posted a pair of caused turnovers and corralled a team-high four draw controls. Senior Anna Scanlan (Lutherville, Md./Roland Park Country Day School) and sophomore Lexi Kelly (Ridley Park, Pa./Agnes Irwin School) each recorded three ground balls.

Senior goalie Kristen Krammer (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) did not allow a goal in the opening half while making a trio of saves. Junior Laura McIntyre (Glenmoore, Pa./Coatesville) closed the door in the final period with four saves against two goals allowed.

Gettysburg rested the majority of its upperclassmen against Colby-Sawyer (0-2) with no semblance of a letdown as all 21 goals were scored by freshmen, tying the team's highest goal total over the last five seasons. The Bullets ran off each of the first seven goals in the contest and held a 15-2 lead at the break.

Menton and Stauch paced the effort, the former tossing in three goals and doling out five assists and the latter hitting the back of the net six times on eight shots. Menton added to the offensive display with two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and eight draw controls.

Gettysburg also received three goals from freshman Ali Lospinuso (Rumson, N.J./Kent School) and two apiece from Kelly Ruffini (Swarthmore, Pa./Strath Haven), Lindsey Robinson (Potomac, Md./Holton-Arms), Katie Levy (Baltimore, Md./Friends School), and Maddie Desmond (Floral Park, N.Y./Holy Trinity). Ruffini dished out four assists for a six-point day and Robinson added two helpers.

Defensively, freshman Mairead McGuirk (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll School) posted five ground balls and a caused turnover. Sophomore Maddie Coleman (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge Country) and junior Laura Block (Leesburg, Va./Foxcroft School) each played a half in goal with Coleman recording the only save.

Gettysburg closes its Lone Star State trip on Thursday, March 11, against 10th-ranked Catholic University. Game time is set for 11 a.m.
