BALTIMORE – Johns Hopkins University maintained its perfect Centennial Conference record this spring with a 9-0 victory over visiting Gettysburg College in women's tennis action on Thursday, April 22.
Gettysburg (10-6, 4-5 CC) was out-matched by the 13th-ranked Blue Jays (12-7, 9-0 CC), who notched their 39th consecutive conference victory. Johns Hopkins opened with a sweep in doubles play as all three contests were 8-1.
In singles play, regionally-ranked Carolyn Warren (No. 5) and Nandita Krishnan (No. 6) handled Gettysburg's top players
Katie Taylor (Ocean City, Md./Worcester Prep) and
Kelly Eurich (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown). Warren shut out Taylor 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, while Krishnan posted a pair of 6-1 scores on Eurich.
Sophomore
Liz Heisler (Gwynedd, Pa./Wissahickon) put up the toughest challenge in singles, holding out until the end in a 6-1, 6-2 loss to Renata Smith at the sixth flight.
Gettysburg closes the regular season against Muhlenberg College on Saturday, April 24, at 11 a.m.
