Bullet Thinclads Feted for Classroom Performance

Sarah Fritz helped the women's track & field team earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

NEW ORLEANS – The Gettysburg College men's and women's track & field teams have each been named as United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Teams.

In addition, senior Kerrin Epstein received USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, given to athletes who finish with a GPA of 3.30 or higher and meet either the NCAA Division III indoor or outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard. Epstein was a provisional qualifier during the outdoor season in the 10,000-meter run.

THE USTFCCCA awards All-Academic recognition to teams that have a minimum 3.10 GPA. Gettysburg's women's team, which posted a 3.29 GPA, was one of 106 teams honored while the Bullet team, which attained a 3.14 GPA, was one of 68 men's teams to meet the mark.

Epstein is a first-time USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree in track & field but received the same honor three times in cross country.
