Track & Field Earns Four Victories at Susquehanna

Hallfors Posts Four Top-Three Finishes

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Sophomore Joy Hallfors posted two firsts, one second, and one third-place finish, leading the Gettysburg College track & field teams at the Susquehanna University Indoor Invitational on Sunday.

No team scoring was kept at the meet.

Hallfors placed first in the 55-meter hurdles with a personal record (PR) of 9.46 seconds. She also finished in a three-way tie for first in the high jump at 4-11 3/4, took second in the 55-meter dash in 7.80, and was third in the long jump with a mark of 15-6.

Also enjoying a strong all-around meet was junior Alexandra Van Tuyl, who picked up fourth-place finishes in the long jump (15-1 1/2), high jump (4-7 3/4), and the 55-meter hurdles (9.90).

Freshman Alex Bull also won, taking first in the 5,000-meter run in 19:31.99.

Others among the top-six were senior Kara Tzinivis in the 400-meter dash (third, 1:05.48), freshman Eva Hinkeldey in the pole vault (fourth, 9- 1/4), sophomore Yaa Addison in the 800-meter run (fourth, 2:34.16), freshman Celia Hartz in the shot put (sixth, 30- 1/4), and senior Megan Murphy in the 400 (1:07.29).

In relay action, the 4x400 meter squad of Murphy, Tzinivis, senior Casey Lumpkin, and sophomore Amanda Koslo finishes second in 4:26.28.

The men's team top finisher was freshman Ashanti Foster-Felder, who competing in the long jump for the first time, won the event with a leap of 20-11 3/4. He also won his heat and was also third overall in the 200-meter dash (23.51).

Senior Nick Rosenberger placed third in the 55-meter hurdles (8.73) while senior Clay Reynolds came in fourth in the 3,000-meter run (9:05.59). Senior Thomas Daniels and sophomore Tyler Keith placed fifth and sixth in the 5,000 in times of 16:28.54 and 16:59.86, respectively.

Finishing eighth were senior Tom Lester in the shot put (39-3) and sophomore Joe Sharp in the 800 (2:04.41).

Gettysburg returns to the track on Saturday, when it competes at the Haverford Invitational.
