USILA Division III North-South Game Roster

PERRY, N.Y. –
Seniors John Odierna and Chris Fumai of the Gettysburg College men's lacrosse team have been selected to play in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USLIA) Division III North-South Senior All-Star Game.

The Division III contest will be held on Friday, May 27 at Goucher College in Towson, Md. at 3 p.m. with the Division I/II game to follow at 5:30 p.m. Fumai and Odierna are among 32 players who will compete for the South squad, which will be coached by Todd Cavallaro of Franklin & Marshall College.

Earlier this week Odierna was named a USILA All-American for the first time in his career, earning honorable mention recognition. A defenseman, he also gained All-Centennial Conference (CC) First Team honors earlier this month after leading the conference's top-ranked defense. The Bullets posted a CC-best 6.97 goals-against average, were second with 10.11 caused turnovers per game, and held all but three opponents to under 10 goals. Starting all 19 games, he led the team with 31 caused turnovers and was fifth with 40 ground balls while handing out three assists and scoring his first collegiate goal in the team's CC semifinal victory over Haverford College.

For his career, Odierna played in 62 games and made 46 starts, including the 2009 NCAA Division III national championship game. He finished with 103 ground balls, 68 caused turnovers, four assists, and one goal.

Fumai, a short-stick defensive midfielder, also earned postseason accolades with a spot on the All-Centennial Conference Team as an honorable mention. Also a key member of the defensive unit, he played in all 19 games and finished fourth on the team with 15 caused turnovers. Also a threat in transition, he scored three goals on just seven shots while dishing out four assists.

Fumai played in 42 games for his career and finished with four goals, five assists, 24 caused turnovers, and 51 ground balls.

Gettysburg, currently ranked No. 12 by USILA, closed out its season 12-7 (6-2 CC) and advanced to the championship game of the Centennial Conference tournament before earning an at-large berth in the NCAA Division III tournament.
