Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Top-20 Polls
BALTIMORE – The Gettysburg College men's lacrosse team has earned its second top-20 preseason ranking.
One month after receiving a No. 16 preseason rank in
Inside Lacrosse's “Faceoff Yearbook”, the Bullets were pegged No. 12 in the
Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Top-20, it was recently announced.
The Bullets are coming off a 2011 season in which they finished 12-7 and 6-2 in the Centennial Conference to tie for second in the league standings. Gettysburg, ranked No. 12 in the final USILA Division III poll, also advanced to the conference championship game and received an at-large bid in the NCAA Division III tournament before reaching the second round.
Defending national champion Salisbury University was ranked No. 1 in the poll, followed by No. 2 Tufts University, No. 3 Roanoke College, No. 4 Dickinson College, and No. 5 RIT.
The Bullets play their season opener on Feb. 25, when they host Messiah College in a non-conference tilt.
