CARLISLE, Pa. – Sophomore Alex Bull and the men's 4x800-meter relay each turned in victories to lead the track & field teams at the DuCharme Invitational, hosted by Dickinson College, on Saturday.

The women's team earned 51 points to tie for sixth out of 15 scoring teams while the men's squad finished with 23 points, placing 12th among 16 teams. Dickinson won both team titles.

Bull clocked a 27-second personal record (PR) – indoor or outdoor – with a time of 19:04.66 while edging out Goucher's Katherine Currier by five seconds. She finished less than a second outside of Gettysburg's all-time indoor top-10 in the event.

The Bullet women had a number of additional strong performances in the distance races, including a second-place finish in the 4x800 by junior Kerry Campbell, freshman Meagan Lesniak, senior Amanda Pellowe, and junior Yaa Addison, who were timed at 10:27.32.

Campbell was also third in the 3,000-meter run (10:56.65) while junior Joy Hallfors tied for third in the high jump (4-7). Addison added a fourth-place finish in the open 800 (2:31.12).

Also earning team points with their top-eight finishes were Hallfors in the long jump (sixth, 15-1 1/2), Pellowe in the mile (5:39.01), junior Emily Heeren in the triple jump (seventh, 29-10 3/4) and pole vault (8-2 1/2), and sophomore Eva Hinkeldey in the pole vault (seventh, 9-2 1/4).

On the men's side, sophomore Patrick Hill, junior Tyler Keith, freshman Ryan Rausch, and freshman Jeff Horvath won by 12 seconds in the 4x800, breaking the tape in 8:29.57.

Hill also finished fifth in the mile while posting a collegiate PR by seven seconds in 4:40.75. Junior Brad Wiseman also placed fifth, posting an indoor PR of 2:03.80 in the open 800.

Sophomore Simeon Daniels also figured into the team score with a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (23.97) and placed just outside of scoring position with a ninth-place showing in the triple jump (37-10 1/2).

Gettysburg continues its season next Saturday, when it competes at the Bucknell University Winter Classic.
