CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Rising junior
Kara McNulty was named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) NCAA Division III All-American Scholar Team.
McNulty was named an All-American Scholar for the second year in a row by the NGCA and she remains the only Bullet in program history to earn the honor. She was also the only women's golfer from a Centennial Conference school to land a spot on the team this season. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
McNulty is coming off arguably the best season ever turned in by a Gettysburg women's golfer. She set a new Gettysburg scoring standard with a season average of 82.9 – tops in the Centennial Conference. She placed top five in eight events, including a pair of individual titles.
McNulty became just the third Bullet to win medalist honors at the Centennial Conference Championship, posting a school-record 158 over 36 holes. She opened the event with the second-lowest round in school history and the first sub-80 round in seven years with a 78. McNulty was named CC Player of the Year and copped all-conference accolades for the second consecutive season.
As a team, Gettysburg won its second consecutive Centennial title and its third in the last five seasons. The Bullets took top honors at five events and set a new single-season record with a scoring average of 350.5.
