MAC All-Century Men's Basketball Teams

ANNVILLE, Pa. –
Former Gettysburg College men's basketball standouts Ron Warner '62 and Bob Rudisill '80 were selected to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) All-Century Men's Basketball Teams, it was announced Monday.

The MAC All-Century Teams are part of the conference's “MAC 100,” a celebration of its 100th anniversary. Candidates were divided by era and voted on by fans through an online poll this past winter. The MAC is announcing its All-Century Teams at the end of each respective sports season throughout the year.

Warner and Rudisill are the third and fourth Gettysburg athletes to capture MAC All-Century recognition, as Dave Miller '82 and Martha Orem '84 were each named to the Cross Country teams this past fall.

Warner, one of eight athletes representing the era of 1912-66, piled up 1,880 points from 1959-62 – a school record that stood for 49 years. Remarkably, he played just three seasons, as freshmen were ineligible for varsity competition at the time, and averaged over six points per game more than any other Bullet before or since, scoring 24.4 points per night. Warner, a 5-10 guard, also played his entire career before the 3-point line was adopted.

Playing at a time when Gettysburg competed in the MAC University Division, Warner was a three-time All-MAC selection, capturing first-team honors as a junior and senior. An honorable mention All-American as well as a Small All-American (given to players under six feet tall), he went on to become a charter member of Gettysburg's Hall of Athletic Honor in 1978.

Rudisill was one of eight athletes named to the All-Century Team from the 1975-82 era. A 6-3 guard, he was a two-time All-MAC honoree, garnering First Team honors in 1977-78 and Honorable Mention accolades in 1979-80. Rudisill scored 1,028 points from 1976-80 despite playing alongside the third all-time leading scorer in school history, Bill North '81. Also playing without a 3-point line, he averaged a career-high 14.3 points per game as a senior. For his career he shot 82.0 percent at the free-throw line, which ranks fourth in school history.

Gettysburg competed in the MAC starting in 1914 before joining the Centennial Conference when it became an all-sports conference in 1993.
