WESTMINSTER, Md. – The rescheduled women's tennis match between Gettysburg College and McDaniel College was put to rest on Thursday as an injury default handed the Bullets a 5-0 decision.
 
When the two teams met on March 27, Gettysburg (7-5, 2-3 CC) jumped out to a quick 4-0 decision before snow suspended the contest. The match was rescheduled for Thursday, but an injury to one of McDaniel's (2-11, 0-5 CC) players gave the Bullets the match-clinching point and saved the team from travelling down to Westminster.
 
Gettysburg swept through doubles play with senior Laura Habecker (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day School) and junior Maggie McLaughlin (Canaan, Conn./Convent of the Sacred Heart) posting an 8-0 win at No. 3. Seniors Kelsey Boyce (Arrowsic, Maine/Morse) and Meg Kelly (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) dropped only one game at second doubles, while sophomore Isabelle Rodriguez (Plano, Texas/Plano) and senior Bev Keyes (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) picked up an 8-4 at the top flight.
 
Only one singles bout was completed before the match was suspended. Boyce posted a pair of bagels (6-0. 6-0) over Laura Pollard at No. 5. Elise O'Meara was injured prior to Thursday's make-up date and was unable to compete, giving Keyes the match-clinching victory at No. 6.
 
Gettysburg had the four other singles matches well in hand with each Bullet winning their opening sets.
 
Gettysburg visits Ursinus College on Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m.
