GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Senior Johnny Nelson (Big Prairie, Ohio/West Holmes) and junior Mike Pratt (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) posted a come-from-behind win at second doubles to help Gettysburg College pick up a 5-4 victory over York (Pa.) College in non-conference men's tennis action on Friday.
 
Gettysburg (2-7) jumped on the board initially as senior Chris Curran (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) and freshman Dave Musser (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Twp.) earned an 8-3 at first doubles. The win was Curran's 36th career doubles win, pushing him into a tie for fourth on Gettysburg's all-time list.
 
York (10-7) quickly tied the match with a win at third doubles and the Spartans were poised to take a 2-1 lead as Matt Rosenkrantz and Jake Greenstein jumped out to a 7-4 advantage over Pratt and Nelson. The Gettysburg duo rallied to the win to give the hosts the advantage heading into singles play.
 
The Bullets secured the decision by posting straight-set wins at each of the top three singles matches. Pratt took down Nathaniel Hoskins 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3, while Curran downed Tyler Cheatham 6-2, 6-1 at the top flight. Musser posted the match-clinching point with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2.
 
York won the final three matches as Nelson and sophomore John Cronin (Riverside, Conn./Millbrook School) each fell in 10-point tiebreakers to end the night.
 
Gettysburg returns to action with a conference contest at Dickinson College on Wednesday, April 10, at 4 p.m.
