Women’s Lax Hosts Rowan in NCAA Opener

Bullets face Profs on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College women's lacrosse team will host Rowan University in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Wednesday, May 8, at 3 p.m.
 
Ticket prices for the contest are $3 for adults, $2 for students, and $1 for children between 2-12. Children under the age of two will be admitted free of charge. Gates will open 75 minutes prior to game time.
 
Gettysburg (18-1) is making its 12th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and its 13th showing in the last 14 seasons. The Bullets earned an automatic bid by defeating No. 6 Franklin & Marshall College 14-11 in the championship game of the Centennial Conference Tournament. Gettysburg has reached the semifinals of the national playoffs five times in the last seven seasons, including winning the national title in 2011. The Bullets are 20-11 all-time in the national tournament.
 
Rowan (11-5) received a “Pool B” bid into the tournament as its conference does not own an automatic qualifier. The Profs are making their 10th appearance since 2011. After starting the year 0-3, Rowan won 11 of its final 13 games and enters the postseason riding a six-game winning streak. The Profs are 2-9 all-time in the NCAA playoffs.
 
Gettysburg and Rowan have met seven times on the lacrosse field. The Bullets have won all seven of those meetings, including a 12-4 win in 2009.

Wednesday's victor will advance to the NCAA regionals on May 11-12.
