LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior
Laura Bergin (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) was named the Centennial Conference Co-Player of the Week in volleyball on Monday.
Bergin earned her second career weekly accolade from the conference after another dominant display on offense. In three matches last week, she totaled 44 kills and 26 digs as the Bullets went 2-1. In a 3-1 loss to Swarthmore College, Bergin posted 15 kills and 11 digs. She added 19 kills in a sweep of Dickinson College and tallied 10 kills in a 3-0 win over Bryn Mawr College. For the week, Bergin averaged 4.4 kills and 2.6 digs while recording at attack percentage of .306.
The senior outside hitter leads the team and has climbed to fourth in the Centennial with 3.54 kills per set. Bergin has hit double-figure kills in each of her last 12 outings and she has posted four double-doubles during the same stretch. Over her last six matches, she has averaged 4.39 kills and 2.74 digs per set.
Gettysburg visits McDaniel College (11-11, 3-3 CC) on Wednesday, at 7 p.m.
