Men's Basketball Program History
High-caliber play and outstanding sportsmanship are the hallmarks of the Bullets' men's basketball program.
Gettysburg has qualified for the Centennial Conference playoffs eight times in the last nine years, capturing the title three times, in 2001, 2002, and 2009. Those first two titles made the Bullets the first conference team ever to win back-to-back basketball championships.
The team has made five trips to the NCAA Division III tournament, and has also qualified three times for the ECAC tournament, finishing second in 1999. In 2007-08, Gettysburg made a remarkable run to the NCAA "Sweet Sixteen" and finished with a school-record 24 wins.
The globe-trotting Bullets play an ambitious schedule that has included four trips to Europe and three to California in recent years.
One of the program's proudest accomplishments is being a two-time winner of the prestigious Schoenfeld Award, presented annually by college basketball officials to recognize "the highest degree of sportsmanship, character and ethics."
