Bream Wright Hauser Athletic Complex

Facilities

The Bream Wright Hauser Athletic Complex is the home to all indoor varsity and recreational sports at Gettysburg College, in addition to serving as the center of the athletics department. The complex is made of three independent sections built over a 30-year period.

The Henry T. Bream Physical Education Building was completed in January, 1962. Named in honor of former coach and administrator Hen Bream '24, the 3,000-seat gym is the main stage for the Bullets basketball, volleyball, and wrestling teams. In 2009-10, the gym received several major upgrades including a new floor, bleachers, lights, and sound system.

The John A. Hauser Fieldhouse is named after the former president of the Musselman Foundation and opened for general use in September, 1973. The Fieldhouse has a playing surface of 24,500 square feet and contains three full-size basketball courts, four regulation tennis courts, five volleyball courts, and a 1/11-mile four-lane track. The Fieldhouse is used as a practice venue for many of Gettysburg's varsity and recreational teams, and is often utilized by outside organizations for camps and auctions.

The final piece to the puzzle is the Wright Center, named in honor of 1955 graduate Barry B. Wright. The Wright Center connects the Bream and Hauser buildings and is the location of Gettysburg's athletic department. The building also houses the athletic training room, classrooms, conference rooms, locker facilities, and The Rudisill Hall of Athletic Honor.

In 2009, The Center for Athletics, Recreation and Fitness was completed and connected to the backside of the Bream Wright Hauser Athletic Complex. The Center features an array of athletic and fitness areas available to Gettysburg students, staff, and alumni. It also contains a new natatorium which is open for recreational use and is home to the Bullets swimming program.
