Fumagalli has been a driving force behind the Gettysburg athletic department’s pursuit of excellence on a national scale. After serving six years as Assistant Director of Athletics, she was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics in 2010 and Senior Associate Director of Athletics in 2018. She also serves as the Director of Athletic Operations (Recruiting) Center.
As the Associate Director of Athletics, Fumagalli performs a variety of roles. She administers the department’s financial budget, files all NCAA/conference championship budgets and NCAA gender equity and EADA reports, and serves as the liaison to other offices on campus. Fumagalli manages the awards program and promotes individuals for national awards, including NCAA postgraduate scholarships. Since her arrival, five Bullets have been named postgraduate recipients.
Among Fumagalli’s newest accomplishments is serving on the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse National Committee from 2008-12, including as chairperson in 2011-12. She oversaw a pair of national championship events hosted by Gettysburg - the 2010 NCAA Division II and III Women's Lacrosse Championship and the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.
In 2018 Fumagalli was given the Lester Jordan Award by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The award recognizes exemplary service to the prestigious Academic All-America program and the promotion of the ideals of being a student-athlete. She has been a member of the Academic All-America committee since 1995, serving as a national coordinator from 1999-2008 and most recently holding the post of Vice-Chair, Awards. She is a member of CoSIDA and the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators (NACWAA). Fumagalli also serves on the board of the Collegiate Women's Lacrosse Officiating Association as the NCAA Division III administrative representative and she was named Vice President of the executive board in 2014.
Fumagalli has a wide and varied background in the world of athletics and administration. Prior to arriving in Gettysburg in 2004, she served as the Sports Information Director (1994-2004), Coordinator of Women’s Athletics (1996-2004), and Assistant Director of Athletics for Administration and Communications (2000-2004) at Widener University. Fumagalli also worked as Assistant Sports Information Director at the United States Naval Academy in 1993-94 and was an intern in sports information at Bucknell University in 1992-93.
A native of Barre, Vermont, Fumagalli graduated from St. Michael’s College with a degree in business administration in 1992 before earning a pair of master’s degrees in business and information systems during her time at Widener. She was inducted into the St. Michael's Hall of Fame in the fall of 2022.
