2012 All-Centennial Spring Sportsmanship Team
LANCASTER, Pa. – Ten student-athletes from Gettysburg College were recognized for their intangible contributions to their respective programs by being selected to the All-Centennial Conference Spring Sportsmanship Team.
Each member institution was permitted to nominate one student-athlete from each spring program who exemplifies the best in sportsmanship. This is the fifth year of the All-Centennial Sportsmanship Team, which was proposed by the conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
The following student-athletes were named to the All-Sportsmanship Team:
Baseball
Senior
Clint O'Brien – O'Brien served as a team captain for the baseball team and hit a career-high .382 with 30 runs scored and 23 RBI. The baseball team finished 25-13 this spring, marking its best win total in five seasons.
Men's Golf
Senior
George Whitelaw – Whitelaw was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the second year in a row. The Bullets' captain averaged a career-low 78.8 and finished in the top 10 in six events this season.
Women's Golf
Senior
Shelby Glass – Glass helped the women's golf team capture its second consecutive Centennial Conference championship. She closed her collegiate career with a 94.6 scoring average this season.
Men's Lacrosse
Senior
Caldwell Rohrbach – Rohrbach made the most of his one season with the Orange and Blue, netting 21 points on six goals and a team-high 15 assists en route to All-CC Honorable Mention. He helped the team reach the second round of the NCAA playoffs.
Women's Lacrosse
Junior
Lindsay Menton – Menton helped guide the Bullets to a 19-2 record, a conference championship, and an appearance in the national playoffs. She appeared in all 21 games and posted five points and 22 ground balls.
Softball
Senior
Adrienne Rahs – Rahs picked up her fourth all-conference accolade and first all-region selection as captain of the softball team this spring. She closed her career holding 13 school records and was named an Academic All-American.
Men's Tennis
Senior
Terry Keegan – Keegan was an all-conference doubles player for the men's tennis team this season. He capped his career ranked seventh in doubles wins at Gettysburg.
Women's Tennis
Senior
Kylle O'Sullivan – O'Sullivan landed her second-straight All-Sportsmanship nod as team captain of the women's tennis team. She was named All-CC in doubles this past season and finished her career with 63 total wins.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field
Junior
Will Demakis – Demakis was one of the top short-distance runners on the track and field squad. He held the team's top time in the 400 hurdles (58.90), while contributing to the top times in both the 4x100 (43.35) and 4x400 (3:26.25) relays.
Women's Outdoor Track & Field
Junior
Kerry Campbell – Campbell picked up her second sportsmanship award from the conference this season after earning the nod on the cross country team in the fall. The junior ranked among the team's top long-distance runners and contributed to the top time in the 4x800 relay (9:54.07).
