GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's tennis team lost its season opener to Shepherd University, falling 7-2 at home Wednesday afternoon.

The Bullets earned one point apiece in singles and doubles. Sophomore Kevin Roveda (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) and freshman Kyle Shope (Ellicott City, Md.) combined for an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles while senior Johnny Nelson (Big Prarie, Ohio/West Holmes) scored a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.

The Rams, who compete in NCAA Division II, improved to 2-1.

Gettysburg plays in its final match of the fall when it competes at the ITA Regional Championships Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
