GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Gettysburg rallied for three wins at the top of the singles lineup, but visiting Muhlenberg College received a come-from-behind victory at sixth singles to clinch a 5-4 win over the Bullets in Centennial Conference men's tennis action on Friday.
 
Gettysburg (1-6, 0-2 CC) trailed 2-1 after doubles as senior Chris Curran (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) and freshman Dave Musser (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Twp.) prevented the sweep with an 8-6 victory over Daniel Lakhman and Max Blumenthal at the top flight.
 
In singles action, Muhlenberg (2-1, 1-0 CC) picked up straight-set wins at fourth and fifth singles before Gettysburg made a run with three-set victories at the top three flights. Junior Mike Pratt (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) dropped only one game in the final set to beat Jason Teitelbaum 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 at the No. 3 position. Curran and Musser once again had Lakham's and Blumenthal's numbers as the Gettysburg senior took down Lakham 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, while the freshman beat Blumenthal 6-1, 5-7, 7-5.
 
Sophomore John Cronin (Riverside, Conn./Millbrook School) scored a 6-1 win over Dylan Ander in the opening set at sixth singles. Ander came back to win the second set in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-2), but Cronin jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the decisive set. Ander ran off the final five points to win 7-5 and clinch the match for the Mules.
 
Gettysburg returns to action at Johns Hopkins University on Tuesday, April 2, at 3:30 p.m.
