GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Gettysburg women’s lacrosse program will host a 5v5 Tournament and Clinic for high school girls on Sunday, February 13, 2011 beginning at 9:30 a.m. and going until 1:30pm at Clark and Shirk Turf Fields and the Gettysburg College Hauser Field House. Cost for players to participate is $50. Payment as well as a completed registration form must be received by February 1st, 2011. Players may register as either a team (ranging in size from six to ten players) or they may register as individuals and we will place them on a team of independents. We will take a maximum of 48 teams so it will be a first come – first serve registration format.
The day is designed for players who are looking to polish their skills before the start of their seasons. The morning will start out with a brief clinic covering 5v5 attacking and defensive principles and will include demonstrations from our nationally ranked Bullet’s squad as well as coaching from the Gettysburg coaching staff! We will then progress to the 5v5 Tournament in which players will be able to put the clinic’s theory into practice and challenge their skills in a fun and competitive environment!
Players should bring the following with them to the clinic: eye wear, mouth guard, stick, goalie equipment (if applicable), water bottle and clothing for both indoor and outdoor environments. Cross-trainers are the recommended footwear. Bring warm weather gear as we will be OUTSIDE playing on our turf fields!!!
The event will take place regardless of weather as we will move the clinic and 5 v 5 tournaments indoors if inclement weather should occur. Closer to the event, be sure to check your email for updates on location and possible time changes.
